An Ultimate Proposal... Yes!

An Ultimate YES!

First off I love Ultimate Frisbee!

My boyfriend Trey and I both love playing Ultimate! We live on a small island, Saipan, where we work lots but still find time to play pick-up 3 times a week.  The best thing about being in this part of the world and playing ultimate is the epic community that has been built throughout Asia of Ultimate Players.  Fabulous people that play in tournaments with and against each other year after year!

If you have never played the sport you should definitely look into it for multiple reasons:

1.        It's a game centered around spirit, positive playing and not just hippie stuff, but good human heart- spirit of the game!

2.       The game is self-regulated and goes by honor, which feeds on the playing with heart.

3.        You can mark up on someone your skill level and ability-  so there is room for everyone to join. So, start coming a with a friend who is also a newbie to learn and develop together brings on the friendly competition and fun!

4.         It is co-ed which I will explain more about here soon in my story!

5.        Perfect way to get and keep in shape!

Ok,  I will stop trying to talk you into joining Ultimate and get to the story of Trey's Ultimate proposal!

So there we were on Guam an island near us with a bunch of our friends playing in an Ultimate Frisbee Hat Tournament.  We had played hard for two days; day one was a full day round robin with a championship game at a sports complex, played on grass fields. And day two was BEACH ultimate, my favorite, 2 pools with a semi-finals and championship!

By the end we were sunburnt, tired, but still pumped up by the tunes of PharmDJ - as we started the awards ceremony. The organizers gave out many well deserved awards it was fun and all exciting!  Shout out to Will our best friend got MVP!  Trey won best costume from the pirate party!   Everyone was pumped up and joy was in the air!   One of the tourney organizers – Sunshine- was announcing about how Ultimate is a special sport because it is one of the few co-ed sports that is AWESOME. And with ultimate come some power couples that both love ultimate and play the sport together! So he elaborated that what that means is if you are single you should come play ultimate to meet someone... and for this tournament we are going to give a couples award for a couple that played their hearts out and really brought their A game. Then he continued to announce that this award goes to Amanda and Trey!  Woo Hoo!  We hurry up to the awards stage and Sunshine asks as he did with the other awards would you like to say anything and hands me the mic and I said something like ... "Well we don't always play well together to be honest I actually prefer to play against Trey more than with him but we always try to have fun together!."

Then I passed the mic to Trey who "accidentally" drops what he is hold while grabbing for the mic and says something sarcastic like, "Oops!  I dropped my pelican case, I should get down to get that." and goes down on one knee. Next he starts going through his pelican case throwing out he wallet and saying I think I have something in here and then we all know what is happening... And he grabs up the mic and tells me he loves me and says he wants to spend the rest of his life with me and asks will I marry him!

And the crowd goes wild! ! !

After lots of kisses he got an ULTIMATE - YES!

So today I am the ultimate Happily, Amanda!

Why "Happily" you may ask?  Because any other way would be just... sad.   Happily, Amanda
